The men's curling world championship opened in Switzerland on the 30th, and Japan started with a loss, losing to Italy 4-6 in the first round of the qualifying league.

The men's curling world championship will feature 13 teams competing in a round robin qualifying league, with the top six teams advancing to the playoffs.

Japan played with five members, including Consadole, who won this year's Japan Championship, and Roco Solare's Asei Nakahara, and faced Italy in the first match of the qualifying league on the 30th.

At the end of the 8th match, with Japan leading 1-3, Force's Tetsuro Shimizu made a draw shot, scoring two points and leveling the score.

However, in this match, Japan was denied many chances by Italy's ``double takeout,'' in which they flicked two stones at the same time, and in the 9th end, their opponent performed a double takeout, giving them 3 points. There was no possibility of a tie, so they conceded defeat.

Japan started the game with a loss, losing 4-6 to Italy.

After the match, Shinya Abe said, ``It wasn't bad, but when you play against a top team, you have to work on the details a little more. The first game was more about whether we could do what we wanted to do than winning or losing, but it was a positive ending. I think I was able to do it.''
