The German footballers have solvable tasks ahead of them when it comes to qualifying for the 2025 European Championship in Switzerland.

The vice-European champions of the German Football Association meet Austria, Iceland and Poland in Group A4 and thus avoid the toughest opponents like England or Sweden.

This was the result of the draw on Tuesday in Nyon, Switzerland.

The group winners and runners-up in the A-League secure the eight direct European Championship tickets.

The third and fourth placed teams have to take the detour via the playoffs.

A total of 15 starting places are up for grabs for the Euros.

Host Switzerland is automatically qualified.

The world champions from Spain will face Denmark, Belgium and the Czech Republic in Group 2.

England, France, Sweden and Ireland meet in what is probably the strongest Group 3.

The Netherlands, Italy, Norway and Finland play in Group 1.

The six group games will be played in three international windows between the beginning of April and mid-July.

The playoffs are scheduled for October to early December.

The German team's European Championship qualifying games will be broadcast on the ARD and ZDF channels.

Last week the DFB women qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris.
