Etzner Jakobsson took both silver and bronze in the parade style in the Gothenburg European Championship two years ago. That made her a poster name for a sport that had not received much publicity or attention before.

The idea was that she would follow up with another medal at the World Championships in Tryon almost a year ago - and then as the only Swedish team in place. But after the fifth place in the individual program, Zenard was removed from the open and transported home.

Come as a shock

- When we got home he got to rest, walk for a long time and we did several x-rays. After about five weeks we took a number of blood tests and checked if there were any underlying causes of his getting sick, but there were not.

- We do not yet know what triggered his capture. He has always been core healthy so it came as a shock to me. I understood that when I competed in Denmark and won all three classes.

- I lost a few tons. Then I realized how much I had spent and spent. I felt so bad that he was in pain.

TT: Any theories about why Zernard got sick?

- No idea, possibly some herb or something else that caused him to be poisoned.

Won all this year

Etzner Jakobsson competes in grade 4. The goal in Rotterdam is of course medal - and most preferably of the denomination she lacks.

- It is entirely possible and realistic to take it. The Dutch (Sanne Voets) who won in the World Cup I beat in Gothenburg, but she rides at home and I think it will be tough. I will try to do my best.

"We have won everything we started this year and will be better and better," says Louise Etzner Jakobsson, who sees Zernard as a partner also in the Paralympics in Tokyo next summer.
