World Cup-ready Brandt and Femling started the mixed relay for Sweden, but had a tough time in the shooting. Both Brandt and Femling shot penalty rounds and Femling sent Johanna Skottheim out in sixth place. The 29-year-old took Sweden to fourth place after a stable third stretch.

Sweden had a small chance on the podium before the final shooting, but Anna-Karin Heijdenberg had a tough time on the fence and Italy was able to secure the bronze.

Norway were heavy favorites going into the relay and kept up the pressure, although there was tension at the end after Maren Kirkeeide trembled in the final shoot. France took silver.

Sweden has still not won a medal during this championship, but has one last chance in this afternoon's single mixed relay.
