This Steller's Sea Eagle has been visiting Nagahama City for 26 consecutive years, and because it flies to Yamamotoyama, it is affectionately known locally as ``Grandma of Yamamotoyama.''



Usually, they spend their time fishing in Lake Biwa until late February, and are expected to soon head to Russia's Sea of ​​Okhotsk coast where they breed.

Before that, avid wild bird fans and others are visiting the area around Yamamotoyama this time of year to catch a glimpse, and on the morning of the 21st, a Steller's Sea Eagle was seen perched on a tree preening itself as people gathered with their cameras ready. was showing.
