It has been a month since MEP Sara Skyttedal reported KD's party secretary Johan Ingerö to the police for an incident that allegedly occurred in 2014. The two also allegedly had a conflict over Skyttedal's statements about cannabis.

The notification led to Johan Ingerö leaving his post. Now Sara Skyttedal says she was close to doing the same.

In an interview in DN, she says that all the tours made her consider leaving politics.

Re-candidacy

"It has been extremely trying for my family and there have been times when I have seriously wondered if it is worth continuing. The price you pay in politics is very high," she says in the interview.

Now she has landed in the decision to run for a new term in the European Parliament in the election next year.

"I will be available in the internal process," she says.

Skyttedal's mandate expires next year when a new European Parliament is elected. Whether she will continue to be trusted will be decided by KD's members this spring.
