On Friday, Furuviksparken's external investigation was presented. In addition to shortcomings in the locking routines, the park is criticized for not annually following up and reviewing its security routines, which the auditing firm EY now recommends the park to do.

The County Administrative Board has previously also ruled that ways to kill the chimpanzees with firearms remotely were illegal.

"It is a failure that the chimpanzees were able to escape from their enclosures," says Parks and Resorts CEO Christer Fogelmarck.

In recent years, before the chimpanzee escape, the park has also received criticism from the Swedish Work Environment Authority and the zoo organization Eaza.
