As Russia's invasion of Ukraine is protracted, Foreign Minister Hayashi plans to attend the G7 = seven major countries' foreign ministers' meeting to be held in Germany next month, and wants to confirm cooperation with each country.

It is also being considered to take this opportunity to hold ministerial consultations on foreign and defense affairs with Germany.

On the 24th, eight months after Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, the G7 = seven major foreign ministers' meetings will be held in Münster, western Germany, for two days from the 3rd of next month, local time.



In order to attend this foreign ministers' meeting, Foreign Minister Hayashi plans to visit the site and hold individual meetings with the foreign ministers of each country.



Also, on this occasion, it is being considered to hold a so-called 2 plus 2 ministerial consultation with Germany on foreign affairs and defense, and Defense Minister Hamada plans to participate online.



Ministerial consultations on foreign and defense affairs between the two countries were held for the second time since they were held via videoconference last year. It is expected that we will confirm the strengthening of cooperation in terms of security.
