The Italian government recently announced that Meloni will host the first G7 meeting in Ukraine since Italy took over the G7 presidency.

In addition to Trudeau and von der Leyen, Zelensky will also attend the meeting.

According to reports, Meloni will also hold bilateral talks with Zelensky before chairing the G7 online meeting, and may announce the signing of a security agreement between the two countries after the meeting.

Ukraine has previously signed security agreements with Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

"We support Ukraine more firmly than ever, financially, economically, militarily and morally," von der Leyen wrote on social media X.

On the second anniversary of the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis, the West has increased its support for Ukraine, and the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and other countries have announced large-scale new sanctions against Russia.

However, foreign media are not optimistic about the effects of sanctions and say that new sanctions on Russia are unlikely to have a major negative impact on its economy.
