Al-Jazeera correspondent in Ramallah said that a settler was wounded by gunfire in the Karmiel settlement, south of Hebron in the West Bank, Thursday evening.
The reporter added that the Israeli security asked the residents of the settlement to stay in their homes after they suspected an infiltration operation.
The Israeli army radio said that the security forces were chasing the attacker in the settlement after he managed to escape.
Other Israeli media reported that Israeli security is currently checking if the perpetrator infiltrated the settlement or fired from outside it, near a religious school adjacent to the fence.
