“The military operations of Ukrainian sabotage groups unleashed on the day of the arrival of IAEA experts with artillery shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine leave no doubt that the V. Zelensky regime was preparing this military provocation in advance,” the military department said in a Telegram statement.
It is noted that with the successful implementation of the plan, the IAEA delegation would become a human shield of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is specified that the US and the EU would urge Russia to provide a "demilitarized zone" around the station, where IAEA observers would remain under the protection of the Ukrainian military.
Earlier, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that he would consider the issue of the permanent presence of agency inspectors at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
