Russia urged France to stop arms supplies to Ukraine, and while the mutual attacks continued between Moscow and Kiev, each party announced that the other's attacks had failed.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova urged French President Emmanuel Macron to stop arms supplies to Ukraine, TASS news agency reported.

This came in response to Macron's call for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Zakharova said that Macron should have also proposed a ceasefire to the parties to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

On the military level, the Interfax news agency quoted the Russian Ministry of Defense as saying - today, Sunday - that Russian forces took control of the village of Mirn, located in the Ukrainian Zaporozhye region.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian army announced that the provinces of Kherson, Kharkiv, Sum and Donetsk were being targeted by Russia, indicating that the Ukrainian army had thwarted an attempt to advance on the country’s eastern border.

For his part, Oleg Kiper, Governor of the Civil and Military Administration of Odessa Province, said that various areas of the province were being subjected to Russian attacks for the third day, using Iranian-made “Shahed” drones.

He added that the air defenses were able to shoot down 13 aircraft, while two of them penetrated the air defenses.

In this context, Russia ordered an increase in the firepower and training of the Navy to confront the threat of Ukrainian air and naval drones after a series of strikes targeting Russian warships.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said - in a statement during a visit to the Black Sea Fleet in southern Russia - "Training of personnel must be conducted every day. Training on how to repel attacks from the air and from unmanned ships."
