The drowning allegedly occurred in an unsupervised area.

A 13-year-old boy drowned on Tuesday afternoon in the body of water at a nautical base in Lauterbourg, in northern Alsace, on the border with Germany, firefighters said.

“At first, the lifeguards started cardiopulmonary resuscitation followed by the firefighters”, details the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) of Bas-Rhin.

The victim was declared dead by the Samu doctor, add the firefighters.

According to France 3 Grand Est, the drowning occurred in an area of ​​the body of water which was not supervised.
