“The Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Mytishchinskoye” initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art.
118 of the Criminal Code of Russia (causing grievous bodily harm through negligence),” the supervisory authority said.
As the children's ombudsman of the Moscow region Ksenia Mishonova said, the girl's family came from Kharkov.
She also said that the monkey was kept in a private zoo, reports RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office of the Moscow region reported that in Mytishchi a monkey attacked a girl on the street, an investigation is underway.
According to the regional Ministry of Health, the girl who suffered as a result of the monkey attack is in serious condition.
