This is stated in a statement by Joly on the website of the Canadian department.

“Given the deteriorating security situation ... we will move our operations to a temporary office in Lviv and temporarily suspend the work of our embassy in Kiev,” the message says.

It is specified that the diplomatic presence and active participation of Canada in Ukraine will continue.

"Services for Canadian citizens will also continue to be provided at the temporary office by appointment only," the statement added.

At the same time, it is noted that the provision of consular services will be limited.

Earlier, a number of EU countries called on their citizens to leave Ukraine.

For example, the relevant recommendations were given by the authorities of Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Finland.
