Tang Renjian, director of the Central Agriculture Office and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated at the meeting of the Central Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School’s Joint School Leading Group on the 12th that in the future, farmers’ education and training will require both methods and methods. Be grounded, let the people understand and learn, and also require innovation, so that the people are willing and convenient to learn.

We must grasp the "three changes" in concepts, content, and methods, and improve the quality of education and training for farmers in the new stage.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Central Agricultural Broadcasting School.

After years of development, the Agricultural Broadcasting School has become the main force of education and training for farmers, an important window for publicity of the "three rural" policies, and an effective channel for rural farmers to serve.

In 1980, 10 departments including the former Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education jointly formed the Central Agricultural Broadcasting School.

Later, the number of joint school-running departments gradually increased to 17, and the central government and provinces, cities, and counties established agricultural broadcasting schools to form an education and training system for farmers with inter-departmental linkages.

Statistics show that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, my country’s farmer education and training have achieved remarkable results. In the past five years, 5 million high-quality farmers have been cultivated, 110,000 rural practical talent leaders have been directly trained, and agriculture-related higher vocational education has expanded to 35,000 farmers for the first time. , The education and training of farmers across the country has reached a new level.

Up to now, the total number of rural practical talents in the country is about 22.54 million, of which more than 17 million are high-quality farmers, and 90% of them have been engaged in agricultural production for more than 5 years. They have culture, know technology, good management, good management, and retention. The scale of the team of high-quality farmers that can be used continues to grow.

"Farmer education and training is a process of changing the weather and becoming a custom." Tang Renjian said that in the future, we must change our concepts. Curriculum design and training arrangements must start from the needs of farmers, and promote the transformation of farmer education and training from a task-based to a service-based. The change from the main to the study-based, so that farmers can learn well, use it, and really work.

At the same time, the training content should be changed accordingly, from highlighting production to expanding the entire chain, from highlighting primary industry to expanding the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, from highlighting production to expanding across the economy and society, and promoting comprehensive agricultural upgrades, comprehensive rural progress, Farmers develop in an all-round way.

"The methods of farmer education and training will also change accordingly. During the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic this year, many places have delivered spring plowing technology to their homes through mobile phone video and other methods." Tang Renjian said, we must make full use of new technologies and new models to promote Farmer education and training has shifted from focusing on offline to online and offline integration, from instillation to participatory interaction, to better meet farmers' diverse learning needs.
