“There was the use of stun cartridges from the Wasp pistol and tear gas - at the moment when citizens began to show aggression against law enforcement officers,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

As the agency specifies, on Monday, October 12, an unauthorized march took place in Minsk, in which mainly pensioners participated.

Lashkevich added that the aggression was shown both to the employees and to their vehicle, which was surrounded by the protesters.

“Therefore, a flash cartridge was fired from the minibus into the air,” he said.

According to him, gas was also used for the same reason.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus said that the protests had become "organized and extremely radical", in connection with which the security forces will, if necessary, use special means and military weapons.
