The Last Generation group demonstrated again on Saturday for more climate protection with road blockades in several places in Germany.

Unlike previous campaigns, the participants did not become stuck.

According to police, around 130 participants in Berlin blocked the Warschauer Bridge, a central transport connection in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, at midday.

They repeatedly stood and sat on both lanes of the road.

In Munich the police counted 120 demonstrators and in Regensburg 150 demonstrators at reported and non-reported meetings.

According to police, there were no major traffic problems in Munich.

According to the police, 27 activists blocked traffic on an access road to the Sassnitz ferry port near the Rügen terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The emergency services initially let the group go because of the “meeting nature”.

Prolonged protest at the Rügen LNG terminal

A spokesman for Last Generation had previously said the protesters planned to stay longer, possibly until Sunday.

The liquid gas terminal is “the pinnacle of fossil fuel madness.”

There were also actions in Freiburg, Karlsruhe and at Stuttgart Airport.

The police spoke of a peaceful protest there.

Further blockades were planned in Bremen, Cologne and Leipzig.

The last generation is demanding radical climate protection, including the complete abandonment of coal, oil and gas.

From the beginning of 2022, she organized road blockades in which participants stuck themselves.

However, the group recently announced that it would change its strategy and avoid sticking in the future.

She called for “disobedient gatherings” nationwide.
