Prime Minister Jean Castex tested "negative" for Covid-19 during a second screening carried out this Saturday, immediately ending his isolation, seven days after contact with the director of the Tour de France himself infected , announced Matignon.

"In accordance with the health protocol, seven days after contact with a person who was declared positive for Covid-19, the Prime Minister was tested today", explained Matignon.

“The test result is negative.

The Prime Minister will therefore no longer be in isolation or telework from this afternoon, ”said this source.

Isolation

The head of government was isolated after the contact and had to change his agenda to stay in Matignon, the Council of Ministers on Wednesday having notably taken place entirely by videoconference.

A first test carried out on Tuesday had already proved negative, but the protocol provided that Jean Castex undergoes a new test seven days after contact and that he remains isolated until then.

Jean Castex took his place exactly one week ago in the Tour management's car, alongside Christian Prudhomme, to follow the 8th stage.

"They both wore a mask and respected barrier gestures," Matignon assured then.
