Green light to remove the sanitary tape that lines the floor of school yards. The inhabitants of many prefectures or sub-prefectures of Occitanie will not have to step outside Sunday March 22 for the second round of municipal elections. With abstention helping to inflate the scores, they re-elected their outgoing mayor in the first round.

Norbert Meler (PS-EELV) won in an armchair in Foix (Ariège) with 61.96%, just like the socialist Marc Vayssouze-Faure in Cahors (Lot). In Castres (Tarn), the centrist Pascal Bugis re-elected for a fourth term with 57% of the vote. In this same department, the mayor LR of Lavaur, Bernard Carayon, passes easily with 60% of the bulletins.

In Auch, the prefecture of Gers, the left mayor Christain Laprébende ironed his scarf, with 55.6% of the vote.
