  Small theaters and new performing arts spaces are booming as a whole. There will be 186,900 performances in 2023, an increase of 471.07% compared with 2019; box office revenue is 4.803 billion yuan, an increase of 463.13% compared with 2019. According to reports, from the overall market perspective, these small and micro performances have significant effects in incubating original works, cultivating creative teams, enriching performance formats, and cultivating audience groups.

  Concerts and music festivals have a prominent driving effect. In 2023, the box office revenue of large and medium-sized concerts and music festivals with more than 2,000 people will be 20.171 billion yuan, an increase of 373.60% compared with 2019. The relevant person in charge of the China Performance Industry Association analyzed that the sinking effect of concerts and music festivals will be prominent in 2023, and the proportion of concerts held in third- and fourth-tier cities will increase, becoming an important force in driving cross-city performances and promoting local cultural tourism consumption.
