A 34-year-old Corrézien, arrested Sunday after the discovery of the body of his 28-year-old partner, was indicted on Tuesday in Limoges and placed in pre-trial detention in Tulle (Corrèze), we learned from his lawyer. The man, a mason by profession, is suspected of intentional violence resulting in death without intention to give it, by spouse or partner, said Christine Marche to an AFP correspondent.

The victim, vendor, was found dead by firefighters and police on Friday at his home in Ussel (Corrèze), his body bearing traces of blows. His family, without news for a few days, had alerted the city police station. A first examination of the body had confirmed "the presence of traces and bruises", suggesting the intervention of a third party, according to the prosecutor of the Republic of Tulle, Agnès Auboin. Her husband was arrested on Sunday.

A "lost man"

Agnès Auboin said the man, who had no history of violence, admitted to hitting his partner but denied wanting to kill her. The exact date of death has not yet been clearly established. According to the Tulle public prosecutor's office, it took place between Monday December 30 and Friday January 3.
