ANC employees are angry. Their December salaries have not been paid or some have arrived late. Their increases for 2020 have simply been canceled. The coffers of the ANC of President Cyril Ramaphosa would gradually empty, but the party wants to be reassuring.

The party in power would have done well for this little quirk during the Christmas holidays. Hundreds of unpaid wages, others paid late and as a bonus the absence of the promised increase for next year.

It was one of the party officials who sounded the alarm, or rather a former party official, Carl Niehaus, a relative of Jacob Zuma. He said his Christmas was spoiled by the default. Other employees do not hide their nervousness before the payment of January.

This is not the first time this has happened, said the party spokesman, who is trying to put out the fire. The poor results of the ANC in the last elections discouraged several major donors from renewing their funding… enough to destabilize already fragile funds . The party accumulated 13 million euros in debt two years ago.

The fact remains that this case is blemished as testimonies follow one another before the commission of inquiry on corruption at the head of the state. ANC dignitaries are said to have received millions of euros in bribes in exchange for multiple contracts.
