The current guidelines mean that there must be a certain number of houses within an area to get lighting. This means that sparsely built areas can be left without illumination according to the guidelines.

- It hits too hard on the countryside. We want to abolish the current guidelines and set up new ones which means that everyone gets illumination. Until then, we want to handle cases for cases within the committee, says Sara Keisu (S).

The first case was handled at Monday's meeting. Hednäs and Hedfors will be the first to retain their lighting despite current guidelines. Sara Keisu, however, believes that it must first be up to the council.

- We do not have the money yet, but the idea is that in future cases we do not have to go up to the council. The idea is that we will have a budget later.

An inventory of all facilities must be made

An inventory is to be made case by case in order to obtain a basis for which facilities and villages should be prioritized.

- An inspection will be done to, among other things, look at condition, where people live and what the structure looks like.

The new guidelines should be clear at the turn of the year. What these should look like is Sara Keisu (S) difficult to formulate.

- But they should in some way mean that where people live there should be lighting.
