Youtube is going to be integrated in the re-entry within Médiamétrie's measurement of audience Internet video three screens, which will make it possible to compare its use with that of other platforms, was learned Thursday during the 1st Youtube Festival in Paris .

Youtube is already included in Médiamétrie's global Internet ranking, which measures the audience of the site in France: 46 million unique visitors monthly in early 2019.

This integration into the three-screen Internet video ranking system (computer, mobile, tablet) will make it possible to certify a multitude of other data, such as the length of viewing or the number of videos viewed by age group or by type of subject.

This data can be compared to other video players already present in this measure, including the internet and mobile portals of television channels.

"This is an important announcement for the measure and a mark of transparency vis-à-vis the market," said Julien Rosanvallon, executive director of Médiamétrie, on the stage of the Youtube Festival, during a conference dedicated to brands and advertisers.

"The time spent on Youtube is extremely qualitative.The platform allows a return on investment superior to online video in 80% of cases," added Pauline Butor, director of advertising at Youtube France.

Google and Facebook reign supreme in the global online advertising market and their pre-eminence is even clearer on the mobile.

The consultation of Youtube via connected TVs, which represents 10% of the overall viewing time on the platform, will not however be included in this ranking.
