A passer-by found two of these calls for help and alerted the police.

Officers broke down the door of the home in Galicia, in the north-west of the country, where they found the man asleep and his victim in shock.

Her family had reported her missing.

The 26-year-old convicted man was taken into custody.

He is accused of imprisonment, sexual assault and physical harm.

According to press reports, both knew each other and had a relationship in the past.

They allegedly met again because the man still owed the woman money.

However, he would not let her go after that.

She had multiple bruises on her body that the man had inflicted on her to force her to have sex, she told officers.

Only a month ago, according to press reports, he was reported for a similar crime in a neighboring community.
