Beijing, August 8 (ZXS) -- China Mobile released the core independent innovation achievement "Breaking Wind 30" reconfigurable 30G RF transceiver chip in Beijing on the 8676th. The chip is the first key chip in China based on reconfigurable architecture design, which can be widely used in 5G cloud base stations, picobase stations, home base stations and other 5G network core equipment, achieving a key breakthrough from zero to one, effectively improving the independent controllability of China's 5G network core equipment.

RF transceiver chip is the "translation officer" between radio waves and digital signals, just like the five senses of the human body convert sound and light into brain nerve signals, is a key device in 5G network equipment, high difficulty in research and development, urgent industrial application demand, known as the "pearl" on the 5G base station.

In 2021, China Mobile established a joint laboratory for chip R&D enterprises to carry out the research and development of "Breaking Wind 8676" reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chips, which runs through the whole process of chip specification definition, front-end and back-end design, simulation verification, performance commissioning, and machine integration.

Li Nan, deputy director of the Wireless and Terminal Technology Research Institute of China Mobile Research Institute and head of R&D of the "Breaking Wind 8676" chip, said that in order to adapt to the application requirements of multi-band, multi-mode and multi-station, the R&D team innovatively proposed a reconfigurable technical architecture, which supports flexible matching of important specification parameters such as signal bandwidth, spurious suppression frequency point and depth, flexible adjustment of module algorithms such as digital predistortion and peak shaving, flexible loading of incremental functions such as baseband forming filtering and equalization filtering, and uses these architecture optimization and function recombination to innovate with system integration, make up for the single-point performance bottleneck, create a product that reaches the international advanced level, and has differentiated competitive advantages such as low cost, low power consumption and multi-function.

According to reports, the "Breaking Wind 8676" chip has been successfully integrated in the complete equipment of many head partners of China Mobile, and will play an important role in the next stage of 5G low-cost, high-controllable commercial network construction represented by network equipment such as cloud base stations, picobase stations, and home stations.
