In order to counter the rise in the price of fuel, the CEO of Total, Patrick Pouyanné, had issued the possibility of a new discount at the pump under conditions.

According to information from Europe 1, the French oil group is working on setting up a new discount.

Faced with ever-increasing inflation, the government announced the extension of the fuel allowance.

The check, worth 100 euros, set up since mid-January will remain in force until the end of March.

Total could also make a move for the French.

Last week, the CEO of Total, Patrick Pouyanné, had raised the possibility of a discount at the pump under conditions.

According to our information, Total is currently working on a discount.

Two conditions at a discount

Will this measure resemble the discounts of 0.10 to 0.20 cents implemented between September and December 2022?

That is possible.

TotalÉnergies is working on a new discount.

To trigger it, the group has set itself two conditions: a price per liter of less than two euros for all fuels and the appeasement of the social climate.

End of fuel discounts: in petrol stations, "we still take advantage of it a little"

Indeed, TotalÉnergies noticed that the strikes in the refineries last fall prevented some motorists from filling up at the group's stations and therefore from taking advantage of the discount.

The group had in particular planned a budget greater than the 550 million euros that the reduction finally cost it.

TotalEnergies would also like not to cause a rush of motorists at the pump.

This new reduction could therefore go through a more spread out implementation over time.
