Denso, a major auto parts manufacturer, announced that it has recorded over 150 billion yen in new costs related to a recall due to a defect in a manufactured fuel pump.

This was revealed by Denso Vice President Yasushi Matsui during an online press conference on the 2nd.

According to the report, approximately 4.3 million cars and motorcycles in Japan have been recalled due to defects in fuel pumps manufactured by Denso.

DENSO has already disclosed that there was a quality problem with its fuel pumps in 2020, and has so far recorded costs of approximately 290 billion yen to respond to the recall. This means that an additional 150 billion yen has been recorded.

Due to these factors, the forecast for the group's final profit for this fiscal year has been revised downward from the previous 470 billion yen to 380 billion yen.

Vice President Matsui said at a press conference, ``Remembering that quality is the core of our management, we will do our utmost to provide products that our customers can use with peace of mind.'' .
