According to RIA Novosti, the situation with gas in Bulgaria worsened at the end of April, when Gazprom stopped deliveries to the country due to non-payment in rubles under the new scheme.

“We don’t see a clear economic justification for such actions: costs increase, there are risks of a shortage of the required volumes,” Pilipson explained.

According to him, consumers in Bulgaria are being convinced that the real increase in the price of gas is offset by the mythical "strengthening of energy security" in Bulgaria.
