“On the instructions of the President, the main department of the Northern Sea Route is being created.

Its main goal will be to organize the passage of ships, including the issuance and withdrawal of permits for this activity,” Mishustin said.

He noted that the Northern Sea Route is especially important for Russia in the face of sanctions pressure, when supply chains are disrupted.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to approve by August 1 a plan for the development of the Northern Sea Route until 2035.
