A meeting of the Ministers of Energy of Quad, the framework of the four countries of Japan, the United States, Australia and India, will be held in Australia on the 13th.

In addition to responding to Russia, which continues to invade the military, discussions are expected to be held on the stable procurement of LNG = liquefied natural gas, which is feared to be in short supply.

The meeting of the Minister of Energy of Quad will be held in Sydney, Australia on the 13th, and will be attended by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hagita from Japan.

The four countries are expected to discuss not only the response to Russia, which continues to invade Ukraine, but also the stable procurement of LNG, which is feared to be in short supply.

The United States is tightening economic sanctions on Russia, and Japan has also put forth measures such as a ban on the import of Russian coal and oil.

However, Japan procures nearly 10% of the total import volume of natural gas from Russia through interests such as "Sakhalin 2", and securing stable suppliers is an issue.

In addition, India has not participated in sanctions on Russia and is still importing oil and other products.

For this reason, at the meeting, four countries, the United States and Australia, which have abundant domestic resources, Japan, which has interests in Russia such as natural gas, and India, which has not participated in sanctions, will respond to Russia in the energy field. So, the focus is on finding a match.

Minister Hagiuda will arrive in Sydney on the morning of the 13th of Japan time to attend a quad meeting.

On top of that, "Russia's military invasion of Ukraine has tightened the global supply and demand of LNG = liquefied natural gas. We have been working to increase production in the United States and Australia, but once again we have increased LNG production and stable supply. I would like to make a request for this, "he said, and expressed his intention to ask each country for cooperation toward stable procurement of LNG.
