Panasonic Holdings has begun efforts to supply all the electricity used at its factories in Shiga Prefecture with clean energy that does not emit carbon dioxide.

Hydrogen, which is considered to be the next-generation energy, is used in earnest for power generation, which is rare in the world.

The new initiative started at the fuel cell factory of Panasonic's production bases in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture.

In order to cover all the electricity with clean energy that does not emit carbon dioxide, we have laid out more than 1800 panels necessary for solar power generation, and about 100 fuel cells to generate electricity using liquefied hydrogen. deployed.

According to the company, it is rare in the world to make full-scale use of hydrogen, which is expected to be the next-generation energy that does not emit carbon dioxide, for power generation.

Although there are issues such as the cost of power generation doubling more than before, Mr. Yuki Kusumi, president of Panasonic Holdings, said at a commemorative ceremony that he would like to have a greater impact on society, and will supply electricity efficiently in the future. After proceeding with the verification to do so, he expressed his intention to expand it to other factories.
