The direct flight from Damaiyu Port to Taiwan is the only sea-to-Taiwan passenger and cargo ro-ro route in the Yangtze River Delta.
Damaiyu Port is actively engaged in a new form of service trade with direct maritime shipping to Taiwan, unblocking trade channels with Taiwan, and helping the development of cross-strait economic and trade.
Since the Taizhou Luqiao Daily Necessities and Plastic Products Trading Center was approved as a national-level market procurement trade mode pilot in September 2020, the Zhejiang-Taiwan (Yuhuan) Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has actively played its role as the main platform for exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan, and enlarged its relationship with Taiwan. Advantages of direct shipping channels, proactive services, and actively docking with the Taiwan market to purchase export sources.
The first batch of goods purchased from the Taiwan market was successfully launched at Damaiyu Port on January 3, 2021, and was successfully transported to Taiwan on the "COSCO Star", and gradually became normal.

Zhejiang The relevant person in charge of the Management Committee of the Taiwan (Yuhuan) Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone introduced that the direct shipping from Damaiyu Port to Taiwan is favored due to its punctual schedule, preferential shipping costs, and convenient customs clearance services, and it has increasingly become the preferred channel for trade with Taiwan.
According to incomplete statistics, Yuhuan City, Taizhou, where Damaiyu Port is located, has exported about 170 million yuan in direct flights to Yuhuan City to Taiwan since 2021, a year-on-year increase of 30.8%.
The relevant person in charge of the Zhejiang-Taiwan (Yuhuan) Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Management Committee stated that after the completion of the Damaiyu Port’s direct shipping to Taiwan, the land customs supervision site and the designated supervision site for imported fruits will be put into use. Further play the role of the main channel for trade with Taiwan, and promote the continuous and deepening of cross-strait economic and trade exchanges.
