the 5th, Rahee Hong, wife of late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee and former director of Leeum Museum of Art, signed a securities disposition trust contract with KB Kookmin Bank to dispose of 19.94 million shares of Samsung Electronics.

Based on the stock market closing price on the 8th, it is worth 1.4 trillion won.

The contract period is until April 25 next year.

On the same day, Hotel Shilla CEO Lee Boo-jin signed the same contract for 240 billion won worth of Samsung SDS stock, and Samsung Welfare Foundation Chairman Lee Seo-hyun signed the same contract for 490 billion won worth of Samsung SDS and Samsung Life stock.

When the stock sale is complete, the three people's stake in each company will drop by up to 2%p.

The reason that the stock sale proceeded even while lowering the stake was to pay inheritance tax.

In April, the Samsung family first paid 2 trillion won while filing an inheritance tax of over 12 trillion won at the Yongsan Tax Office in Seoul.

The remaining amount is to be paid in installments over five years until 2026.

Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong did not participate in this contract, but it is expected that the sale will be made soon as the inheritance tax on stock shares is reaching 2.9 trillion won.

[Jeong Do-Jin Jeong/Professor, School of Business, Chung-Ang University: The Samsung family will sell it to the extent that it does not deviate from its control of 20%.

I thought that the first stock that could be disposed of was SDS.

Then, I thought it would be Samsung Life if it could be disposed of.]

There are concerns that the Samsung family's stock sale will lower the stock prices of its affiliates, but the sale takes place over a long period of time, and in order to increase the amount of the disposal, each company has to pay attention to share price management. There is a possibility that there is a possibility that the share price trend in the future should be watched more closely.
