Carrefour has announced the installation of 2,000 charging stations for electric vehicles in its hypermarkets by 2023. For this project, the brand has established a partnership with Meridiam, a company specializing in this type of infrastructure, reports

Ten terminals on average per store

With these new terminals, Carrefour will offer several offers.

The first, which will be 22 kW, will be free for the first hour for consumers who hold a Carrefour loyalty card or a Pass card.

In one hour, the battery of a city car will be recharged by approximately 50%.

The second offer will be faster, 50 kW to 350 kW, and will allow the entire battery of a vehicle to be recharged in a period of between 15 and 45 minutes.

Carrefour will also offer another offer for bicycles and electric scooters.

With these 2,000 terminals, "on average, each hypermarket will have 10 parking spaces equipped with the charging system", underlined the brand, which wishes to show its willingness to engage in the energy transition.

He added: "Carrefour is committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 40% by 2025 and by 70% by 2050."
