In the past few days, highway travel has ushered in a pre-holiday passenger flow peak. In the service area of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the main artery of transportation in the north and south of China, 10 times more new energy vehicles came to charge than usual. Are there enough charging stations? How is the charging efficiency?

CCTV reporter Chen Xi: I am now at the entrance to the Baoding service area of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, about 150 kilometers south of Beijing. Vehicles depart from Beijing and arrive here in about 2 hours. Drivers will refuel at the service area. , eat and rest.

From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Baoding Service Area ushered in the first small peak of new energy vehicle charging of the day.

Faced with structural changes in self-driving travel, before this year’s Spring Festival, 12 new high-power charging piles were built in the Baoding service area in advance, which can now charge 20 new energy vehicles at the same time. As noon approached, more and more cars entered the service area. The reporter noticed that all charging piles in the service area were operating at full capacity.

When the charging piles are operating at full capacity, mobile charging vehicles can be quickly replenished. The reason why mobile charging vehicles can be dispatched in time is because there is a "smart brain" behind them. There are a total of 7 service areas along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway in the Beijing-Shijiazhuang section. "Small dispatch" can dispatch charging piles in each service area, while the smart dispatch center 100 kilometers away uses "big dispatch" to dispatch the scattered 7 The service areas are strung together into a "line", coordinating all 84 charging piles and 3 mobile charging vehicles on the entire highway.

"Big dispatch" links service guarantee resources, and each service area realizes information sharing. When there is a traffic peak in the Baoding service area, the mobile charging vehicle will be in place in time, and the adjacent Wangdu service area will also receive an early warning.

In order to ensure the Spring Festival travel, the charging piles in the Baoding service area were updated before the end of last year, and the charging efficiency was improved. The reporter calculated that it basically takes half an hour to an hour and a half to charge a car. During peak hours, after scheduling and waiting for half an hour, it can basically be recharged. The "charging guarantee" in the service area has given many car owners more confidence and less worries.

During the Spring Festival travel period, the number of new energy vehicles traveling on highways in Hebei Province is expected to reach about 3.5 million, posing huge charging pressure. In addition to charging piles, a "charging on the go" charging method, Hebei Province has also added 50 new battery swap stations, bringing the total to 65. The reporter saw at the scene that it only takes 3 minutes to replace the battery of a new energy vehicle. The replaced battery is left for charging at the battery swap station and can be recycled by subsequent car owners.

During several days of interviews along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the reporter found that as charging piles on the expressway network become more and more popular, green-plate vehicles from remote areas such as Shaanxi and Jilin, which were almost invisible before, have also appeared in Hebei's services. Zone.

In order to cope with the large passenger flow during the Spring Festival this year, the Hebei Provincial Department of Transportation will build 293 highway charging piles in 2023, bringing the total to 962; 50 new battery swap stations will be added, more than three times the previous increase. The service area of Hebei Province has All charging facilities are covered. In addition, charging resources are efficiently utilized by setting up mobile charging facilities and collaborative guidance in service areas to ensure "charging and battery life" on the Spring Festival travel road.
