Eskilstuna United writes on their website that after a board meeting on Wednesday evening they chose to submit an appeal to the elite license committee.

- Before we know anything else, we start from and plan to play in the elite next season, this applies to everything from coaches, players, budget and organization, says the club's chairman Lina Bertilsson.

When the decision came on Monday, both players and club management expressed disappointment and shock - as they thought the money coming in during the autumn would be enough.

But the financial statement based on football's elite license board is August 31, and then Eskilstuna United still reported a negative capital.

On Monday, the club announced that all contracts with players in the A team have expired.

Now they clarify which conditions apply:

"In the A-team contracts there is a clause that states that the agreement ends at the end of the year in the event of a demotion.

The board decided that this applies even if the association now chooses to appeal the decision and theoretically there could be continued play in the women's league."
