During the day, the now 45-year-old man went to his workplace at the state agency in Eskilstuna. Secretly, however, he is suspected of having controlled both drug smuggling and drug dealing with the help of an encrypted phone.
According to the preliminary investigation, he must have used the phone both at home and at the office. The police also searched the man's workplace.
In addition to the official, three other people are charged. A man in his 50s who was a close friend of the official, an HA member in his 40s and a man from Dalarna in his 30s.

Police tracked down the suspected league after French police managed to crack the Sky ECC encrypted communication tool in spring 2021.
In this case, the four suspects, according to the prosecutor, can be linked to different Sky phones.
To transport the drugs, the official hired his close friend who is suspected of driving two consignments of cocaine, one from Belgium and one from the Netherlands. He also allegedly drove drugs and money to various addresses in Central Sweden.
The official was also in contact with the HA member and his crony in Dalarna to find an outlet for drugs and narcotic tablets.
Supposed to have sold cocaine
The gang is said to have mainly sold cocaine and is suspected of having handled a total of 13 kilos. But they also allegedly delivered several kilos of cannabis and 10,000 narcotic-classified tablets.
According to the indictment, two specially built cars equipped with maple compartments were used to transport narcotics and money.
The four men are suspected of serious drug crimes and the official and his friend are also suspected of serious drug smuggling.
The four suspects have denied any crime during questioning.
