Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced that he would push for a bid for the 2036 Seoul Olympics.

With so many competing cities, the competition rate is expected to be at an all-time high.



At the 88 Seoul Olympic Legacy Forum attended by IOC Chairman Thomas Bach, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced that the Jamsil Sports Complex would be transformed into a new platform to host the 2036 Olympics.

competition rate is expected to reach an all-time high.



Currently, there are more than 10 cities in Germany, Russia, China, Indonesia, Qatar and Egypt that have announced their intention to host.



The host of the 2036 Summer Olympics is expected to be decided in 2025, when Bach's term of office ends.
