IFK Kalmar lost 2-6 away to league leader Rosengård last Friday.

The next day it became known that the team received death threats after the loss.

- It is hard to grasp that a club at the bottom of the Allsvenskan, which is fighting for its existence, gets this.

Nobody can be surprised that we lose against Rosengård, which is a Champions League team and reigning champion.

It is incomprehensible through and through and so terribly rough, says sports manager Tommy Nyberg to TT.

In total, five leaders and some players had the message sent to them.

The incident has been reported to the police and the club has not taken any further measures.

- No, we have not done that.

And what to do?

Imagine yourself in the situation, an entire association where it says that those who play for you will get hurt.

The police received this immediately and had they made any assessment that it is that serious we would have had to adjust accordingly, but we are not there.

"It's important to take it seriously"

Stefan Alvén is sports director at EFD (Elitfotboll Women, the interest organization for the two highest leagues on the women's side).

- It is a balancing act between taking it very seriously and highlighting that it is never acceptable in football.

On the other hand, if it's the work of one person on a Friday night like that, then maybe you should take it for what it is.

But you never know, it is important that you take it seriously and still be vigilant and follow the continuation and see if it escalates or if it was just an empty threat.

IFK Kalmar's next match, Piteå at home on Sunday, will be played as planned.

The Smålänningar are in eleventh place in the women's league, with two points down to Umeå in the relegation zone.
