Magdeburg, Munich, Madrid – eventful weeks lie ahead for the Eintracht Frankfurt footballers.

For players, fans and observers, the Bundesliga opener against Bayern Munich and the Supercup against Real Madrid may be the first two major highlights.

The first round of the DFB Cup against 1. FC Magdeburg takes a backseat to such big names.

Coach Oliver Glasner knows exactly how dangerous it can be to underestimate this task.

At the training camp in Austria, he warned several times about the second division promoted team and rightly recalled Eintracht’s early exit from the cup in August 2021.

But the conditions have changed.

Eintracht has improved well, as could be seen in the training camp.

The new offensive forces were under special observation.

With Mario Götze and Lucas Alario, Frankfurt have got two well-known newcomers.

They proved their skills in the test match against FC Torino.

The French new signing Randal Kolo Muani also impressed as a fast and assertive offensive force.

With them and established forces like Jesper Lindström, Rafael Borré or Ansgar Knauff, who will soon be fit again, Eintracht has the desired variability in attack that was mentioned every day in the training camp.

Despite all the enthusiasm for the offensive, the reinforcements and conversions on the defensive must not be forgotten.

Against FC Turin and also in training, the young Croatian Hrvoje Smolcic made a name for himself with a lot of effort, even though he sometimes acted a bit over-committed.

Jérôme Onguené, another newcomer, did well too.

Only 23-year-old Brazilian Tuta seems to have settled into his new role as chief of defence.

He conducted his front men confidently.

Anyone who believed that Frankfurt could rest on the laurels of the previous season or become arrogant had to revise this assumption after Windischgarsten's impressions.

The pros have a good work ethic, you could see that every day in the training camp.

Those responsible at Eintracht not only bought quality, but also created greater competitive pressure among the European Cup heroes.

It is remarkable how conspicuously inconspicuous the integration of the many new players seems to work.

This is important.

Because how far the inner cohesion can take a team was proven by Eintracht last season with the Europa League title.
