Young English star Phil Foden has joined the list of the highest paid players in Manchester City.

The England international agreed orally to a deal that would keep him for a long time at the “Etihad” stadium and raise his salary three times, bringing his weekly wage to more than 236,000 euros.

Talks between the two sides began last year but were halted after the death of his friend and trusted legal adviser, Richard Green.

Foden - a graduate of the Citizens Academy - currently earns about 77,000 euros a week, and has established himself as a key player in the "Three Lions" over the past two years.

And Spaniard Rodri, Foden's colleague, is also awaiting a significant wage increase, as City plans to speed up talks to extend the contracts of two of its most prominent players.

Both players have two years left on their contract under the current terms, and it seems that extending their contract does not face any obstacle.

And the "heavenly" team bought Rodri from Atletico Madrid for about 74 million euros in 2019, and he became the main element in the center of the defensive midfield after the return of Brazilian Fernandinho to his country.

Rodri, 26, currently earns about 151,000 euros a week.

Negotiations in both cases are expected to be problem-free and agreement on the new terms to be completed quickly.

The "Citizens" paid 62 million euros to Dortmund for the inclusion of the young Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, and he also receives 451,000 euros per week.
