The Italians have had a tough start to the World Cup with four losses in five matches, but opened best and had a 1-0 lead with them into the third round.

There, however, team Hasselborg showed quality, turned the tables and were able to bring 2-1 into the fourth round.

Jerked in the eighth round

A lead was extended to 3-1 in the fifth round.

Sweden's coach Wayne Middaugh came on the ice in the sixth round to set up the tactics so that the Swedish lead would be impregnable.

However, Italy reduced to 2-3 before Sweden increased to 5-2 in the eighth round.

Chasing semi-final spot

The ninth round was the last where Italy was finally forced to give up and the final numbers were written to 6-2.

Team Hasselborg is chasing one of two places that gives a direct ticket to the semifinals.

If you do not succeed with that, a sixth place is enough to get to the quarterfinals.

On the night before Wednesday, Swedish time, Sweden will face top competitor Japan.
