Chinanews client, September 8th. On September 8, Chinese basketball player Zhou Qi announced that he would join the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix team in the Australian NBL league.

This is Zhou Qi's journey to overseas competitions again after playing for the NBA Houston Rockets.

Zhou Qi, born in Henan in 1996, signed a contract with the Xinjiang team at the age of 18 and started playing in the CBA league.

In the past two seasons, the team's record has not been satisfactory, and the conflict between Zhou Qi and the Xinjiang team has become increasingly public.

According to CBA rules, the club has the priority to renew the contract for top-paid players.

This also means that as long as the Xinjiang team is willing to offer a maximum salary contract, Zhou Qi cannot leave.

A few days ago, Zhou Qi filed a complaint with the CBA League and reported that Xinjiang Guanghui Club had problems with the main players of the participating units and violated the salary cap regulations, and completely "breaked" with the Xinjiang team.

On August 29, Zhou Qi announced through his personal social media that he would withdraw from the new season, and at the same time would add materials to the Chinese Basketball Association as soon as possible.

He said, "I hope that through my work, the CBA League can be more standardized and truly protect the reasonable rights of players."

Today, Zhou Qi announced that he has joined the NBL Southeast Melbourne Phoenix team.

He said: "In the new season, I will seize the opportunity to strengthen my own strength, exercise myself in all aspects, strive to gain experience and progress in the NBL league, and apply these experiences to future games. I will be able to better serve China. The meager contribution of the national team is my constant pursuit and goal."

There are currently 10 teams in the NBL League.

Last season, the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix team achieved a record of 19 wins and 17 losses in the regular season, ranking fourth.
