The end is in sight, but not yet reached.

The working relationship between Eintracht and Amin Younes is about to end.

There will be no happy ending.

The club does not put any obstacles in the way of the little midfielder with the great technical sensitivity in his feet and lets him pull him.

Where?

That is still open.

Sports director Markus Krösche announced on Wednesday that he and trainer Oliver Glasner will sit down with the professional to find a way out of the tricky situation that none of the participants is comfortable with.

Younes wants to leave, has messed with almost every one of his colleagues internally and there is no one of high standing on the club side who would like to induce him to rethink.

What exactly broke up in the liaison between the 28-year-old native of Düsseldorf and the Frankfurters that it is considered irreparable is only known to those directly involved in the dispute.

But they are silent.

Just a rhetorical gem

What is certain is that there was a dispute between Younes and the then coach Adi Hütter around the guest appearance of the Hessians in Dortmund at the beginning of April (which they won 2-1 and thus supposedly seemed to have set course for the Champions League), who had intervened in a dispute between the German-Lebanese and Filip Kostic in the locker room. In the process, many words are said to have been uttered that had lasting damage to the internal climate - and then things took their course.

From then on, Younes was only used sporadically. In the season finale, that initially looked like another clumsy move by Hütters, but it actually happened with the express backing of management, because they hoped to be able to reintegrate the dribbler. But the plan failed. Last but not least, Younes, who can shine forwards when others have his back free, lacked help from the group after he felt he was wrongly treated and in his anger did not avoid an argument.

In short: The reference to the "harbor", which Younes spoke of in an allusion to Eintracht in an interview with the FAZ on May 4th, in which he would like to anchor permanently, was a rhetorical piece of jewelery whose luster quickly faded. In addition, there were discrepancies in an irritating debate that was initiated by Younes' consultancy agency. It was aimed at the fact that Fredi Bobic, who had moved to Berlin, had allegedly made the promise that a jump in the player's salary, which was last estimated at around two million euros, would be possible from July 1st.

That Younes is a creative spirit who can make the difference for a good thing, he proved in 26 games in the previous round.

His gala appearance in particular - the 2: 1 against FC Bayern on February 20 (including a beautiful goal) stood out from a number of appealing performances.

Eintracht would have had time to draw a purchase option by the middle of next year, which it had agreed with SSC Napoli when it loaned Younes in the fall of 2020.

Failed to move to Saudi Arabia

But now she wants - for the sake of the peace in the cabin - to put an end to the horror before the matter develops into a horror without end.

An initial exit strategy that Younes and his lawyers had designed and aimed at getting a job with the Al-Shabab association in Saudi Arabia turned out to be unsustainable;

the deal fell through, mostly for financial reasons.

A buyer within the boundaries of UEFA was not found during the transfer period, which lasted until the end of August.

Now there are second- or third-class addresses in Turkey (where business can still be processed until this Wednesday evening at midnight), in the Middle East (where trading can be carried out up to and including September 18) or Central America (where the player exchange is open until September 22nd) as a possible refuge September is open).

How they intend to solve the problem, Eintracht did not reveal on Wednesday.

The club announced that “within the framework of a joint meeting with sports director Markus Krösche and head coach Oliver Glasner, we would use the next few days to find an amicable solution to the current situation”.

Younes' non-nomination for the Europa League suggests that the next chapter in his illustrious career will close with no presentable finish.

Until further notice, Younes will not participate in Eintracht's training or match operations.

Means: All sides are working on dissolving his contract.

He is tied to the SSC Napoli until the summer of 2023.
