English league eight Manchester City have suffered from covid infection.

Two important players in the form of full-back Kyle Walker and striker Gabriel Jesus have tested positive for corona and now look to miss matches for the light blues from Manchester.

It is not only the player squad that has been affected, also two people in the management staff are infected, the club writes on its website.

"All four will now self-isolate according to the Premier League and the UK Government's quarantine protocol," City wrote in a statement.

Manchester City have had a tough league start and are currently parked in a modest eighth place in the league, eight points behind Liverpool at the top.

Under the hectic Christmas schedule, Newcastle await tomorrow and then Everton at Goodison Park two days later.
