Guardiola blames Grealish, who remains silent after the match (BeIN Sports)

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola's strong censure of his player Jack Grealish after the match ended in a goalless draw against Arsenal on Sunday evening in the English Premier League raised the astonishment and condemnation of fans and analysts.

Video clips showed Guardiola blaming Grealish on the field after the final whistle by giving advice on what he should have done to avoid the mistakes he made. The player showed great respect, as he contented himself with listening to his coach, who did not accept his attempts at justification.

It is clear that Guardiola was not happy all the time, and he turned to Grealish, who replaced Mateo Kovacic after 60 minutes.

The cameras did not capture what was said between the duo, but the Spaniard made a series of gestures towards the City winger, before patting him on the head.

Users of the “X” platform shared these clips, and some of them saw that Guardiola should have waited until entering the stadium corridor or the dressing room to speak with Grealish.

"Leave him to the dressing room."

BeIN Sports broadcaster Richard Keys did not hide his feelings about Guardiola's behavior after the Spaniard was seen in a live discussion with Jack Grealish following Manchester City's 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

"Leave it to the dressing room, it's all for the cameras, isn't it? It's so stressful, go into the tunnel, he shouldn't even be on the field," Keys shouted.

"Now he has to go and tell everyone about the mistake he made, of course," he added.

City was unable to penetrate the wonderful defensive effort of Mikel Arteta's team, as it managed only one shot on goal despite having 72% possession of the ball at Etihad Stadium.

But Arsenal had chances of their own, with Leandro Trossard testing Stefan Ortega late on.

But they also only managed two shots on target, and the 0-0 score was of greater benefit to league leaders Liverpool, who regained the lead and moved within two points of Arsenal or City in second and third place.

❌ An excellent defensive match

But Grealish was not the only one to whom Guardiola gave some tactical advice, as Jeremy Doku also received a lesson at the end of the match on the field from his manager.

In August 2023, the Spaniard also exchanged conversations with Erling Haaland at halftime during the opening match of the English Premier League season against Burnley.
