Södertälje's basketball masters became Swedish champions 2018/19.

This spring, the idea was that the club would try to defend the Swedish Championship title, but the season came to an abrupt end and Borås was awarded the Swedish Championship gold.

Now a new season has begun and the club is suffering from major financial worries.

One big reason, apart from the canceled playoffs this spring, is limited spectators.

The club has also had to cancel a large youth tournament, and their second tournament looks to be difficult to arrange.

- It is important that we survive.

We can hope for contributions from the municipality and RF.

What makes it all extremely difficult is that we do not know, and have to guess all the time, says Johan Strömwall to SVT Sport.

"Three million"

- It is tough to play sports with these circumstances.

First, it was extremely bad timing for us when everything closed again in March.

The playoffs awaited and the most revenue-intensive period was shut down, says Strömwall.

The club cut expenses and saved on what they could.

- It's tough.

Now we go in with a low budget.

We have to think "worst-case scenario" and then we have to save and get income.

It is about three million, says Johan Strömwall.
