In January, Elin Cederroos played a major title match in Atlantic City, USA, and became double world champion in super middleweight (76.2 kilos).

In addition to defending her IBF belt, she also took home the WBA title.

Then came the pandemic and the boxing world stood still for a long time.

Now Cederroos is eager to defend his two World Cup titles - and win even more.

- We are really working on it and looking at what opportunities there are.

Communication is underway.

Actually, you have to defend your championship belts within a year, but given the pandemic, the organizations should be a little tolerant, says the 35-year-old.

Broke his nose in January

After her last match, where she broke her nose, Cederroos wanted to go into a longer training period.

She had then gone two matches in a short time and the plan was to return in August or September.

Now the hope is instead to be back in November or December.

- If I had not had my World Cup belts, there might have been less matches for me to go.

Now I have instead used this time to train hard and I feel in my best shape ever.

Dreaming of all four World Cup belts

Despite the fact that Västeråsbon is a double world champion, she is relatively new to the sport.

Cederroos ended his football career in 2010 as team captain in Djurgården and instead started investing in boxing.

During her seven years in the ring, she has also had a two-year break between April 2015 and April 2017 in connection with the birth of a child.

Therefore, she chooses to see the long training period this year as something positive.

- I have only played eight professional matches so everything has gone incredibly fast.

Now I have the chance to lie in a long maximum strength period and built a lot of explosiveness.

Right now we do not know if it is time for topping in November, December or even later so we are lying and balancing a little grand.

In the long run, she dreams of a match against the American Franchón Crews-Dezurn, who has the other two big World Cup belts, WBC and WBO, in the weight class.

- I am ranked number one in the world in my weight class and want to keep that place.

I do not see past my next opponent but if I have to look further ahead, the big goal is to have all four titles.

To be "undisputed champion".

It is clear that we have to settle at some point, says Cederroos.
